How We Review

We want you to know exactly how our guides are put together, so you can decide how much weight to give them.

The short version

HomeSwingLab is a research-based review site. Unless an article clearly says otherwise, we have not personally tested the products we write about. We gather and compare the best available information and explain it in plain English.

Where our information comes from

  • Manufacturer documentation: user manuals, official space requirements, setup guides and published specifications.
  • Independent reviews and testing: reputable golf publications, fitters and reviewers who have actually used the gear. We link to them so you can check their work.
  • Owner feedback: recurring themes from verified buyer reviews and golf simulator communities, especially about durability, customer service and real-world fit.
  • Retailer data: current availability, what’s included in a package, and warranty terms.

What we look at

  • Does it fit a real room? (ceiling, depth, width, lighting)
  • How it measures (radar vs camera) and what that means indoors
  • What the total cost of ownership looks like, including software subscriptions where relevant
  • Safety, durability and warranty
  • Who it’s actually right for, and who should skip it

What we won’t do

  • We won’t claim hands-on testing we haven’t done.
  • We won’t invent specs, prices or scores. Prices change constantly, so we’ll point you to check the current price rather than quote a stale number.
  • We won’t rank a product higher because it pays a better commission.

Keeping things current

Golf tech changes quickly: firmware updates, new models, discontinued ones. We review and update our guides regularly and note the date they were last updated. If you spot something out of date, please tell us and we’ll fix it.
